And of course Agnes has the tragic gay backstory of parents hating her and being abused by an aunt, but there’s no info on Zoe besides being into BDSM? Which also was just bad, it seemed like the author just read fifty shades of grey and made it scary. Like there was so much potential there to discuss that aspect of gay relationships but the book just jumped the gun and went straight to tapeworm lmao. Like, Agnes wanting “to feel life growing inside of her” and wanting that with Zoe and there was little talk of how weird that a lesbian woman would ask for that without mentioning how it’s impossible or that they’d need to find sperm elsewhere. The dialogue was really unnatural, especially for speaking with strangers on the internet, and the relationship was basically a straight relationship but was switched to lesbians after writing. I just finished it after seeing a tiktok recommendation for it, but I thought it was pretty bad. I have to say, as much as I wish this had been a better book, the story really got under my skin and only this weekend just gone, I told a bunch of people about it at a party. The book ends with a police report stating that Agnes was found dead in a cupboard, with the dead tapeworm held in her hands, her eyes gouged out with the apple peeler.Īpologies if I got any of that wrong, I haven't read it since I wrote my comment two months ago. But then she becomes sick from the tapeworm and passes it. That she can feel their child moving in her belly. She tells her that it worked, and she has a tapeworm in her stomach. She then breaks it off, this time for good.Īgnes continues to email Zoe, although she gets no reply. Zoe again freaks out and tells Agnes she can't believe that she actually did it, and that Agnes is sick and needs help. She eats them both in order to get a tapeworm, and becomes ill. Agnes responds enthusiastically to the idea and sends Zoe photos of two maggot-ridden, putrid rotten steaks. Zoe tells her that she has realised how Agnes could carry her child - she could swallow a tape worm and it would be like their baby. Agnes apologises and begs her to come back (they have still never met in real life), saying she will do anything. Zoe becomes freaked out by Agnes's intensity and her desire to give Zoe a child somehow, and breaks the relationship off. If Agnes jumped and broke an egg, she had to eat it raw. Her twisted grandmother would make her hide in a cupboard with an egg in each hand, blindfolded, while her grandmother would go about her day, occasionally making loud noises. She tells Zoe a story from her childhood, about how her mother used to leave her at her Grandmother's house. It becomes evident that Agnes is very needy and somewhat disturbed. The two develop a relationship, where Zoe is the dominant partner who sets Agnes tasks to perform to please her. Zoe, who seems to be a professional with money, buys the apple peeler for $1000 but returns the item to Agnes, as she is only selling it as she has fallen on hard times. Zoe and Agnes meet in a chat room where Agnes is selling an antique apple peeler that belonged to her grandmother.
